Snowtographers.com was started in early January 2010 to connect ski and snowboard photographers and cinematographers. We are the only place you can talk with pros and amateurs alike, read about your favorite photographer, get industry news, reviews on snow specific equipment and voice your opinions.
Freestyle skiing has grown exponentially in the past few years and with that growth, our little sport is now known throughout the world. In my opinion skateboarding and snowboarding movies are much more entertaining and well done than skiing movies. I think the only reason for this is because both skateboarding and snowboarding has been around longer and they have established their own flow. Skiing is changing so much it’s hard for the media to keep up. The intention of this site is to bring together both skiing and snowboarding, share ideas, get critiques and criticisms and improve our great sports.
Snowtographers is currently in it’s infancy and we hope, with your help, you’ll help us grow into something great.

that looks sick, how important is a bag like this and how much are they? i have just a carry around bag for my nikon and gl2 but this would make carrying it skiing easier
I would say it’s a necessity for anyone who skis with their camera. They range anywhere from $80 or $250, which this one was. You pay for quality and comfort but it’s completely worth it in the long run.

Hmm, that’s interesting. You guys don’t use the standard 3 point lighting setup? fill, key and back?
It says basic and it says I’ll talk about more advanced lighting later. Most of the time, there is no need for a backlight on hill or in urban settings.

I use the older satori, which is simmilar in external dimensions to this pack.
I love it to death, there are only three things I would want to change about that pack.
1) change the top zippers to make them easier to open close – they fixed that
2) deepen the ICU – they did that
3) add plastic to the back panel so that camera gear does not poke me in odd places – easy to do on your own, cardboard also works.
The bag keeps my gear dry, very dry. It carries a lot of stuff, and it is international carry on size. It just slides into the overhead compartment very nicely, no shoving necessary.
One of the better packs for carrying a lot of weight long distances for a long time. It is pricy, but very much worth it. I think that your bag is the most important part of your camera gear, since the easier and more comfortable it is to take your camera with you, the more places you will take it.
That hand drag photo is framed on my wall – I had Matty sign it with his tablet…such an amazing shot.

i’m not sure i got it…. with your cybersync, is it wireless or the flashes a connected with the triger
Fully wireless from the camera to the flash. The receiver to the flash requires a cord.

Also a really good interview, seems like you made the jump to am/pro photographer very quickly! Would you say it’s who you know in the industry that gets you places? (Not to take anything away from your talent, sorry! haha)
Oh and i especially like the one of the chick snowboarder. Great timing, you can see her concentration/nerves without even seeing her eyes!
Cam, thanks very much for the compliment. I would definitely say that who you know in the industry helps, but it’s not everything. If you can’t deliver what someone is looking for, and you aren’t handling things in a relatively professional way, then people move on to the next guy. I think as long as you keep your standards high from how you shoot to how you handle business, and everything in between, that overall you and whoever you’re shooting for will be pleased with the results.
I’ve got an F-Stop Satori bag, and have been nothing but STOKED on the quality, comfort, and clever overall design of the bag. They are without a doubt worth every penny.

Ended up getting this bag. I have a Petrol Cacoon bag right now and it's very uncomfortable with all my gear in it. Hopefully this is a step up.
